Elana Metz, MSW, MPH, brings 7+ years of experience as project manager overseeing programs aimed at increasing access to quality jobs, healthcare, and education and training. With a background in social work and public health, Elana leverages data and evidence-based practices to champion an inclusive, person-centered approach to community development and system-level change.

Prior to joining Trailhead Strategies, Elana worked with community health centers in Southern California to advance integration of behavioral health into primary care, facilitated in-person and virtual training for health center staff, and led peer learning networks for behavioral health directors.

Elana brings graduate level qualitative and quantitative research experience, contributing to studies on diabetes care during the COVID-19 pandemic and supporting community-based projects collecting input for age-friendly city initiatives. Prior to this, Elana led healthcare workforce initiatives at the San Diego Workforce Partnership, designing data-driven programs that expanded access to quality healthcare careers for underrepresented populations.

Elana holds master’s degrees in social work and public health from San Diego State University and an Honors B.A. in International Relations from the University of Delaware.
